About Bledlow Manor
Bledlow Manor dates back to the mid-17th century, originally constructed by the Blancks family, before passing into the Whitbread brewing family the following century. The manor house is a good example of a typical brick-built Chiltern manor house, offering many of 17th and 18th century rural manor features.
The Carrington family took ownership in the late 18th century, retaining ownership today.
The house has witnessed many changes across the 20th century, including use as a farmhouse, a school and the provision of apartments during the second world war. Lord and Lady Carrington moved back into the house in 1946, to restore the property to its current glory, including considerable investment in the gardens.
